You should see a gynecologist for regular women’s health check-ups as well as any unusual menstrual, vaginal, pelvic, reproductive, or pregnancy-related concerns. Routine visits are useful even when you have no symptoms.
When Should You Visit?
For regular care: We recommend periodic visits for preventive care, reproductive health, contraception, pregnancy planning, and age-appropriate screening.
For period problems: Visit for very heavy bleeding, unusually painful periods, irregular cycles, bleeding between periods, or periods that suddenly change.
For vaginal concerns: Persistent itching, unusual discharge, unpleasant odor, dryness, sores, or pain during intercourse should be evaluated.
For pelvic or urinary symptoms: Pelvic pain, painful urination, urinary leakage, or a feeling of pressure or bulging should not be ignored.
During pregnancy: Gynecologists should be consulted as soon as pregnancy is confirmed to begin appropriate prenatal care.
For fertility concerns: If you are having difficulty conceiving or planning a pregnancy, a gynecological evaluation can help identify possible concerns.
During menopause: Irregular bleeding, hot flashes, vaginal symptoms, or other changes affecting daily life can be discussed with a gynecologist.
When Should You Not Wait?
Severe pelvic pain, very heavy bleeding, fainting, high fever, or significant bleeding during pregnancy requires prompt medical evaluation.
At Arihant Hospital, we provide gynecological evaluation and care for menstrual concerns, reproductive health, pregnancy-related needs, and other women's health conditions.
